It's the Labor Day weekend in America and everyone's away for the last hurrah of summer.  In Atlanta, DragonCon is in full swing and John nor Keith could be there.  Keith couldn't be with us on the podcast either, but John worked out a way for him to be on anyway.  Here are two panels from last year's DragonCon featuring Keith.

3:20:  Klingon History - Keith's The Klingon Art of War had recently been published and Keith had written an extensive amount Trek literature featuring the Klingons so it made perfect sense to include him in this panel.  Panelists include Erika Yvette Figueroa and Morgan Skye.

1:00:00 - Keith's , Bone Key, and Heart of the Dragon, are favorites among the 1:00:00 - Keith's Supernatural novels Nevermore, Bone Key, and Heart of the Dragon, are favorites among the Supernatural fans.  In this panel, he and others discuss the themes of the hit CW series.  Panelsists include Maureen Gallagher, Father Brian Small, and Beth Dolgner.

John S. Drew and Michael Falkner meet to discuss Stranger Things, Flip the Table Podcast, Kubo and the Two Strings, and their picks for the new fall TV season.  In addition, they also talk about the limits of regional television programs and how it makes for odd distribution practices across television and streaming services.  The Chronic Rift airs live every Saturday morning on You Tube at 7AM EST, so make sure you check it out.

 The Chronic Rift comes to back life and in a new way!  Host John S. Drew is back at the helm along with The Weekly Podioplex host Michael Falkner to bring you a new episode recorded live on You Tube!  Each week, John and the Rift crew (including Rift Regulars  - Keith R.A. DeCandido and Krissy Myers) will be bringing you the latest news, reviews, and interviews with those who bring the culture to pop culture.  Join them on You Tube by subscribing to the channel and see how you can be part of the live experience.

This week, John and Michael discuss Colin Baker's time as Doctor Who, DragonCon, Sharknado, and a collection of Batman 66 themed podcasts you can listen to for the 50th anniversary of the classic TV series.  And being a live experience, there are going to be problems. Pulling back the curtain, you'll find the following:

• The first six minutes were missing from the live broadcast as John forgot to actually hit the "On Air" and as a result, people didn't hear the first six minutes of the show.  

• Plus, Michael's audio was not recorded in the backup recording.  So John went and edited the two audio recordings together to get the best podcast episode.  So in those first six minutes, it sounds like John is talking to himself.
