Here's another audio mystery, this time by the all-around god-like being of The Chronic Rift Network, John S. Drew.  After the success of THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP, John pitched the idea of a mystery series to the producers of WCRS Radio Stage and this is the first in a series of three.  Justin Case is an old-fashioned detective who likes doing things the old-fashioned way.  He doesn't have a smart phone, doesn't use a computer - he still reads the newspaper!  He's down on his luck though as his ways don't seem to impress many of today's clientele.  But he gets a break when he's hired to find the killer of a late night radio talk show host who died while on the air.  All indications are it was a heart attack, but Justin has to prove it's otherwise.

WCRS Radio Stage returns this month with a double dose of audio drama mysteries.  Up first, producer David Binkley presents a new Brick Wall Mystery in which author M.J. Byron travels to a writers convention and gets involved in a murder mystery.  Can his alter ego, Brick Wall solve the crime?

John's got a new story to tell, a purchase from the ledger of the Old Curiosity Shop.  This time, the story concerns a watch the curator recently acquired.  He's not sure if he should sell it.  The last owner was an astronaut down on his luck, having been thrown out of time and being given the chance to change his life.  Would you buy "The Watch"?

We return to the WCRS Radiostage with another audio production created as a service for the blind back in the early 2000s.  Based on a short story written by producer David Binkley and Michael Elliot, Elliot drafts the audio play for this take on Sherlock Holmes in a story set twenty years after the last documented story by Sr. Arthur Conan Doyle.  The story always read like an audio drama, so it made sense for David to produce it as such.

The thought was to produce a half hour drama a month.  An ambitious goal considering that there was NEVER a regular radio drama series EVER broadcast out of Akron, Ohio.  Over the next twenty-four months they were able to produce twenty-two stories,  After that they put together an occasional story - mostly at Christmas.

Author Michael Giorgio crafts a story about a company that states that they can end all your problems - whatever they are.

Series creator David Binkley offers a psychological thriller when he explores the mind of the person who is involved in a hit and run incident in the story, "Hit and Running".  Keep an ear out for WCRS host Joe Callie as he plays the lead role in this story.

For the third installment in the series, we present a story that our own John S. Drew contributed.  John created his own anthology series, THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP, for WCRS Radio Stage.  In the premiere episode, the curator of a shop of odds and ends, tells the story of a man who purchased a special pair of rose colored glasses - and you know what happens if you view the world through rose colored glasses for too long.

The Chronic Rift Network is pleased to present these episodes, one a month for your listening pleasure.  You will hear mysteries, horror stories, Christmas tales, science fiction, and more.  In addition, our own John S. Drew contributed stories to the series.  Listen for his "The Old Curiosity Shop" and "Justin Case: Private Investigator" in the coming months.

For our second installment, we present "A Matter of Life and Death" by David Binkley.  When Mercy's mother has a heart attack, it brings out all sorts of questions regarding the life one leads and how one chooses to live it.  It all leads to the ultimate question that many of us face in our lifetime.
