On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Solo takes the lead but his victory is troubled. Can a hurricane, a jackass, or a kick butt AI unseat the pilot who made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs?
On the home entertainment front, it's a short slate as we face Annihilation, love with Simon, Diff'rent Strokes, and a classic Midnight Cowboy. After that, it's a look at the future as the show gets ready for a refit in drydock. We're not going away, but we are changing... maybe into a beautiful butterfly.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Brolin and Marvel beat Brolin and Marvel as Deadpool 2 rose to the top. The victory may be short-lived, however, as the galaxy far, far away comes to battle the Merc with a Mouth with a smuggler and his mouth. Either way, fans win.
On the home entertainment front, it's all Sparrows and Games until someone loses a murder mystery. The BBC comes to play with touching tales of midwives, and retro goes HD with dinosaurs as the Jurassic Park set goes 4K.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Thanos gets turkey status as Infinity War reigns supreme, but this week sees another Josh Brolin baddie in another Marvel release vying for audience wallets with Deadpool 2. Marvel on Marvel, Brolin on Brolin... Deadpool is one happy (and filthy) anti-hero.
On the home entertainment front, Marvel demands more of your attention with Black Panther on Blu-ray. We also see Red Sparrow on digital and The Shannara Chronicles on TV shelves. With a snap of the Infinity Guan... I mean, Power Glove (it's so baaaaaad), home entertainment wraps up with The Wizard in HD before this week's edition winds to a close.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we survived the Infinity War... again. Are you still here, or are you dust? The box office saw a couple more records fall and is eagerly awaiting a few more to shake loose, but the Avengers have to contend with high education comedy as Melissa McCarthy goes back to school as the Life of the Party.
On the home entertainment front, things keep rolling as Phantom Thread, Batman Ninja, and Black Panther come home. TV eats its veggies as Bunnicula visits with a friend: Police Woman. Finally, we wrap things up with an ocean voyage and a new Marvel podcast from some good friends, as Denise takes a little break.
Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we survived the Inifnity War. Did you? The box office was rattled as several records (and hearts) were broken. This week, remakes, comedies, and a Time Lord gone bad will do their best as two Marvel movies continue to dominate the top five.
On the home entertainment front, things are picking up as 12 Strong, Winchester, Peter Rabbit, Please Stand By, and another Tremors film make their debuts. TV and retro are still slow, but Denise brings a plethora of news items to close the show.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, audiences escaped the Rampage and sought solace in A Quiet Place. The victory for the silent horror will be short-lived because this week marks the arrival of Thanos and Avengers: Infinity War. There's nothing else going on at the box office. Everyone else gave Marvel the floor. On the home entertainment front, it's still April and it's still slow. Paddington and Maze Runner make sequel premieres, and Bluetooth pioneer Hedy Lamarr makes a digital debut. I also share a story of culture shock with Grease in HD. After that, Denise brings news of more Solo films, another Jumanji, animated Fast and Furious (what!?), and more. Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network. See you on the other side of Infinity.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, audiences witnessed a Rampage. While we revel in the fact that this particular video game got a movie with The Rock, let us also consider that it has only one more week to earn back its budget before Marvel shuts that door forever. Also standing in Rampage's way are three new releases: I Feel Pretty, Super Troopers 2, and Traffik. Is fate on the side of the gorilla named George? On the home entertainment front, it's April, it's tax season, and it's slow. You get The Post (Meryl Streep being awesome), The Commuter (Liam Neeson punching a train... or something), and Winchester (the ghosts of firearms past). TV on DVD buoys things up with the return of MST3K, the next round of Killjoys (RIP Dark Matter), and Perfect Strangers. After that, Denise fights the slow news season with a couple of stellar reviews before bringing this edition to a close. Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, audiences found A Quiet Place, which is really what theaters should be. Seriously, Ted, no one wants to hear your new ringtone when the movie's playing, no matter how retro Nokia you went. Er, anyway... This week, monsters are still in vogue as we go on a Rampage, check in with Borg and McEnroe, and play Truth or Dare. On the home entertainment front, it's another slow week with The Greatest Showman, Phantom Thread, and Outlander among others. After that, Denise brings news of reboots and regenerations, as well as uplifiting tale of Black Panther in Saudi Arabia and empowering deaf actresses. Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Ready Player One is ready in number one, but it's not the success that the hype made it out to be. This week, a horror film will use silence as a weapon agains the OASIS, and it's already looking strong. A Quiet Place is joined by The Miracle Season, Blockers, and Chappaquiddick in an attempt to upset the first place champ. On the home entertainment front, it's a slow week with Insidious, The Post, and a few smaller TV titles. After that, Denise laments the slow news week with a dose of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the Black Panther is unstoppable as the film crests $1 billion worldwide and just keeps on kicking tail. On the home entertainment front, Shape of Water and Justice League lead the pack with The Last Jedi coming to digital. On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we find out that there are turkeys in Wakanda and they are tasty. Black Panther is king for a third week straight, breaking a few more records and overpowering even Jennifer Lawrence and Bruce Willis. This week, it's Disney versus Disney as A Wrinkle in Time tries to take down the Panther. Either way, the Mouse is champ. On the home entertainment front, thunderbolts and lightning are very very frightening with Thor: Ragnarok leading the charge. Jumanji goes digital as Atlanta and The Good Fight bring TV home. We also have Gelflings on HD as The Dark Crystal makes a 4K debut. Despite a slow news week, it's still showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

Television slows down a little with the rebooted MacGyver, but our retro title is the iconic Lady and the Tramp. On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it took three new releases to dethrone the jungle. The king and queen are the torrid pair of Fifty Shades Freed, but they have only a mere week to enjoy their reign. Next week, we visit Wakanda and King T'challa, better known as the Black Panther. It's shaping up to be a big, marvelous adventure. On the home entertainment front, physical media brings both Wonder and Roman J. Israel, Esq, while digital goes to Coco and the Justice League. TV on DVD explores the New York City sex industry with Deuce and time and space with the Peter Capaldi run of Doctor Who. After that, zombies gotta eat as we revisit the Night of the Living Dead. Finally, Denise wraps up the show with Game of Thrones and Star Wars, the end of the line (maybe) for Thor, and an update on the scandals rocking Hollywood. Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network. This week's promo is for Geek Radio Daily.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the jungle returns as Winchester debuts in third place. This week, three differing genres will compete against the board game that will not die: Historical drama in The 15:17 to Paris, family comedy with Peter Rabbit, and thriller with Fifty Shades Freed. They get one week before Marvel arrives, so they have to make it count.
On the home entertainment front, Batman goes Victorian in Gotham By Gaslight. We also see Bad Moms surviving Christmas, the Darkest Hour on digital, and a plethora of retro classics on TV. We wrap up the home entertainment slate and the show overall with the HD debut of the adorable mutt Benji.
Enjoy the journey, because it's showtime on the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the Death Cure outlasted the jungle, but it's not all sunshine and roses on this side of the maze. The final Maze Runner film is a bit of a disappointment, and that stumble leaves the field wide open for mystery thriller Winchester. Young adult adaptation vs spooky haunted house? Who's the winner here?
On the home entertainment front, we get the history of Wonder Woman and her creator, Professor Marston. We also get Boo! 2 from Madea and a Wonder on digital. TV on DVD kicks in a queen with Victoria and a classic with the Pink Panther (and Henry Mancini's iconic brass). Denise wraps it all up with the Quick Flicks, telling us tale of Space Mom Carrie Fisher's final award, Indy 5, Doctor Sleep, and Elon Musk's supposed zombie apocalypse.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we have a turkey in the jungle as Jumanji scores top marks for a third week running. This week, running is the theme as the final installment of The Maze Runner takes the starting line. It's proven champion versus young adult adaptation for the title. On marks, get set...
Teen Titans GO! That's right, home entertainment brings the young heroes to DVD this week alongside Gotham by Gaslight, Jigsaw and Geostorm. After that dose of DC, Denise gives us plenty of news in the Quick Flicks, including word from the Inhumans, Black Widow, Wonder Woman, The Witcher, and the Clue remake.
The Clue remake!? Flames. Flames... on the side of our faces... heaving breaths...

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the jungle is still strong, defeating four effective new releases in its fourth week. Hitwomen, anthropomorphic bears, Liam Neeson... not even the Washington Post could stop Jumanji. This week sees another shot with 12 Strong soldiers in Afghanistan, a Den of Thieves facing off against the LAPD, and a country star coming home. Can anything stop the jungle?
Home entertainment brings replicants to battle in Blade Runner 2049, a slasher Groundhog Day in Happy Death Day, something disastrous in Geostorm, Better Call Saul, and a few retro classics to boot. Denise wraps it up with a short news cycle -- we blame January! -- covering Artemis Fowl, Snowpiercer, and Black Widow.
We also say goodbye to a good man and friend.

Happy New Year! On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we welcome 2018 with a new champion as the jungle overtook the Jedi. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle made big news for stars Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson, but it has hairy competition this week as Paddington returns to theaters alongside Liam Neeson on a train and Taraji P. Henson as a hitwoman. Home entertainment rings in the new year with killer clowns, Supreme Court justices, and a Scooby Doo-Batman team-up for the ages. Denise joins the party with word of Netflix sequels, Captain Marvel casting, Fox's tone in a post-Disney world, and The Animaniacs! Hello Nurse... maybe? Reboots are just about as tricky as the nations song. We also make a couple of changes to refresh the show as we arrive in 2018 and ready to rock. This is the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we close out the year with a triple header and the return of the Jedi. Star Wars: The Last Jedi set a lot of second place records... and a lot of fanboy teeth on edge. Whichever way the lightsaber cuts, it's a win for Disney. This week's premieres, including the third outing for Pitch Perfect's bellas and a remake of Jumanji, will try to unseat the box office champ, but will the Force be with them?
Home entertainment brings several big titles home in time for the holidays, including Dunkirk, LEGO Ninjago, Blade Runner 2049, and The Mountain Between Us. TV on DVD visits Duckburg with the new DuckTales, as well as the last season of Dirk Gently. After that, Denise gives you news of Night Vale on TV, Watergate on Netflix, The Rock on the walk, and Sir Ian McKellan on the prowl.
From your friends at The Weekly Podioplex and The Chronic Rift Network, have a happy, warm, and safe holiday season. We'll see you in 2018!

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, destiny is coming. Coco scored a box office turkey (just like Moana) and is about to hand the crown to a new Star Wars story (just like Moana). It's a Disney month, but that isn't stopping Warner Bros. and the limited release The Disaster Artist from making their respective marks on 2017. In home entertainment, the Kingsmen come home, as does a plethora of televised entertainment including Game of Thrones, Fuller House, Luke Cage, and Viper. Yes, I said Viper. It's like a low budget Knight Rider and it's delightfully '90s kitsch. Denise puts the stamp on the envelope with news of 2019's coming attractions, including The Witcher, The Twilight Zone, and The Phantom Tollbooth. Also, will you please leave David Harbour and Ron Perlman alone? All of that and a bit more make up a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it's all quiet before the return of the Jedi. Coco is your champion once again with the limited newbies making a decent but not Top Ten worthy showing. This week, Coco faces off against The Shape of Water and Just Getting Started in one last bid for box office superiority. In home entertainment, Despicable Me returns alongside The Simpsons, Fargo, and Twin Peaks. After another holiday horror from the past, Denise brings it all to a close with news of Tarantino, Abrams, and Meyer on Trek, Johnson on Wars, and House of Cards without Spacey.
It's another short release list, but it's still here for you on a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On a this week's edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we return to a world where the Justice League almost made it two for two, but the superior power of Disney and Pixar is hard to beat. Coco is your champion, and with only limited releases on the slate for this week's newbies, there's hardly any stopping a repeat performance. Home entertainment is equally sparse, highlighting Logan Lucky, Get Out, the second installment of the Kingsman adventures, and the return of the Gilmore Girls.
To wrap it all up, Denise talks Tolkien in a Lord of the Rings-apalooza! It's a short slate, but it's still a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On a special double digest edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we welcome the Thanksgiving holiday with two weeks in one show. This week's newbies were neck and neck, but they couldn't defeat the power of Thor and Ragnarok. This week, the marvelous God of Thunder faces off against DC Comics and the Justice League. If they're not enough, perhaps the heart-touching Wonder can sway the Odinson. Or perhaps, if they fail, Pixar and the tale of Coco? We shall see.
Home entertainment goes wild with Atomic Blonde, Valerian, Doctor Who and the final adventures of the Twelfth, Red Dwarf. TV also goes old school with the Dukes of Hazzard, The Incredible Hulk, and the last edition of the classic MST3K. Keep circulating the tapes.
After that, Denise covers the plethora of Disney and Star Wars news, says goodbye to Higgins, and almost dies from laughter as the mummy kills the monsters. It's showtime on a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, the start of the holiday movie season was welcomed with thunderous acclaim as Thor: Ragnarok shook the box office and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This week, the son of Odin and his compatriots will hold the line against the star-studded remake of Murder on the Orient Express and another shot at Daddy's Home. Can Thor withstand the power of Hercule Poirot? Home entertainment revs engines from top to bottom with Cars 3 and Speed Racer. The middle of the pack includes Valerian on digital, The Crown and Westworld, and a megapack of DC original animated movies. After that heart-pounding excitement, Denise gives us word of several exciting television prospects, including a Paperback Princess and a return to The Lord of the Rings. Altogether, it's brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, it was another slow week at the box office, but that was okay for audiences who wanted scares because Jigsaw was ready and willing. It wasn't pretty, but it did the job. This week should see a turn on those low receipts with the return of the god of thunder Thor as he faces Ragnarok.
Home entertainment takes a trip to The Dark Tower, ventures down Wind River, and brings complete sets of Orphan Black and Sherlock. It's a good week for television from the BBC. After that, Denise brings us word of meaty Aquaman tales, Stranger Things producers on the CW, a monsterpalooza, and a drain on your wallets. There you have it: A brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, it was a slow week at the box office, and Madea took advantage over low critical ratings. In fact, none of the newbies scored particularly well, which makes us wonder if horror revival Jigsaw, dark comedy thriller Suburbicon, or military drama Thank You For Your Service can ascend to the top spot instead. Home entertainment is equally light, offering War for the Planet of the Apes, Atomic Blonde, Teen Wolf, and two retro thrillers among some other fare.
Wrap it all up with Denise and news of Hollywood's sexual assault cases, ThinkGeek emptying your wallets, and more, and you have a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, it was a good week to die over and over again as Happy Death Day wowed audiences and critics alike. This week, it hopes to survive against the combined might of a Geostorm, firefighters, a spiritual film, a snowman mystery, and another Madea Halloween. Home entertainment offers some solace if none of those is quite your jam as Spider-Man swings home on DVD. Streaming brings The Dark Tower, Target offers Stranger Things, and The Good Place and Batman are solid.
After that, Denise wraps it up with the Quick Flicks as she talks Snoke, Movies Anywhere, sexual harassment tested against The Rock, and more. That's all on this brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, Blade Runner took charge, but it was a disappointing performance. This week brings historical biopics, action, and a slasher Groundhog Day to fight the replicants. Home entertainment brings driving action and caped crusaders, followed by historical television and an early start to Christmas. In the holiday's defense, this week's 70th anniversary film is a classic.
After that, Denise brings it all to a close with a James Cameron festival. Buckle up, because she's taking him to task on a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, the clown and the Kingsmen waged a close war for first, leaving all of the newbies in the dust. This week, both of the meet their match in the return of Blade Runner. There are also ponies and plane crashes, but come on. It's Blade Runner.
Home entertainment brings pirates, killer dolls, and the Book of Henry before diving into House of Cards, American Horror Story, 2 Broke Girls, and iZombie. But the big news this week is Superman and the much anticipated three-hour extended cut on blu-ray.
After that, Denise brings it all to a close with news of Cleopatra, Hocus Pocus, a Game of Thrones (hopefully not red) wedding, and a revision of Hocus Pocus. All of that on a brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, a sewer-dwelling clown was kicked to the curb by the Kingsmen. Both titles were clear winners this week, though time will tell if the Golden Circle will hold up to the legacy of the Secret Service. This week, both clown and Kingsman get a challenge from Tom Cruise: Drug Runner, a remake of Flatliners (mmmm, Bacon), a tale of domestic abuse, and a question of faith.
Home entertainment opens with another Transformers spectacle, a tale of sharks vs. oxygen, and the return of Spider-Man doing everything a spider can. Television ups the ante with some Shameless action, a little Longmire, a whole lot of Sleepy Hollow, a certain set of skills in Taken, and one of the most catchy, upbeat theme songs ever heard on The Greatest American Hero. Finish off the home entertainment slate with Flatliners and Space Camp, then cap off your podcasting journey with Denise and news of Han Solo, Overwatch tackling toxicity, Jordan Peele hunting Nazis, and more.
There you go. One brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex. And it's all yours courtesy of The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, demonic clowns kept mother! and assassins at bay. In fact, mother! joined an exclusive club where only the worst-received get to visit. This week, Pennywise faces off against the Kingsmen and LEGO ninjas. Itís a battle for the middle of September and seats are yours for the asking. Home entertainment brings us an Amazon princess in Wonder Woman, The Big Sick, and another Pirates movie, and television is swimming in great titles like Arrow, Timeless, and classic anniversary editions of Buffy, Firefly, and Friends. After a Marvel-ous Close Encounter or two in the Blu-Rays from the Past, Denise shows us out with news of Nightfliers, Star Wars, and the promise of NES Classics for everyone. Or some of us. Or maybe just that one guy. Who knows with Nintendo at the helm?

On The Weekly Podioplex, demonic clowns are a pleasant surprise. Well, okay, not just any demonic clowns, but record-breaking demonic clowns make our day. IT shocked audiences and the box office by shaking Spetember right out of the gate. The only competition this week is a Jennifer Lawrence thriller and an American Assassin, so that clown may haunt autumn for a little while.
Home entertainment brings The Mummy ñ ask Denise how good that one is ñ alongside Captain Underpants and the haunting Get Out. Transformers arrive on digital as Anthony Hopkins tries to pay the bills, and television is awash in great titles, ranging from Doctor Who and The Big Bang Theory to Orphan Black and Broadchurch. We get some 35th anniversary love in 4K as E.T. rolls into HD, and then Denise chats about the new lack of Trevorrow in Star Wars, Wonder Womanís wonderful success, the pros and cons of Indiana Jones 5, and more. Thatís what you get on a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, we arrive in a post-Dragon Con world to find disappointment. The summer is over, the box office is the slowest it has been in seventeen years, and none of the newcomers could break the top ten. As autumn rolls in, it brings comedies about aging women and horror tales about demonic clowns. Can either jumpstart flagging sales, or have we already drifted into the storm drain to float away?
Home entertainment brings real life tales, from Morgan Leavey to Tupac Shakur, as well as television adventures from the Scarlet Speedster to demon-hunters in Impalas. After closing that chapter with Blade Runner, Denise offers up news of from the DC universe (good or bad, you choose) as well as heartwarming news about Marvel helping autistic artists. With that, we turn out the lights on summer and welcome cooler temperatures, falling leaves, and this new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On The Weekly Podioplex, we present a double feature in honor of Dragon Con, but itís a tale of good news and bad news: Starting with the bad, this summer is not good. This weekís winner was a so-so flick, and the other newbie at the box office couldnít even break third place. Logan Lucky, The Hitmanís Bodyguard... you have failed this summer season. On the other hand, Wonder Woman is a shining star around the world an in the DC Extended Universe. Over the next two weeks, things wonít get better, but at least the studios can clear the decks and get ready for autumn.
The home entertainment slate sparkles in comparison with Guardians of the Galaxy (Zardu Hasselfrau!) Wonder Woman leading the charge. We also get Supergirl, The Walking Dead, both Jessica Jones and Daredevil, Gotham, Star Wars Rebels, and (literally) more titles than we could cover. With new television on the horizon, itís a clearinghouse of titles ready for you. After that bumper crop, Denise offers up news of Good Omens, The Jetsons, and two beasts ñ one is an animal, and the other is Daniel Craig. With that, we put a wrap on summer and this Dragon Con double digest edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

We're really not sure which is scarier: The number one film or the descent of the summer box office. Annabelle may have won the weekend, but this year's summer season is not performing well at all. Between The Hitman's Bodyguard and Logan Lucky, maybe there's hope in two adult comedies as the season winds down.
The home entertainment slate looks a little better with Alien: Covenant leading the pack, backed by heavy hitters like Once Upon a Time, The Blacklist, Legends of Tommorrow, and Riverdale. Oh, and a little creepshow known as Pet Semetary. So many chills down the spine. After that, Denise brings news of Hannibal, Hellboy, Neuromancer, Dawn, and whatever The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is. It's the dog days of summer right here on a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

The battle between good and evil seems to be a winner, but the victory is tainted by really low attendance numbers. That's unfortunate, but audiences may find some respite from The Dark Tower with another crack at The Nut Job. There's also some real life drama in The Glass Castle, a creepy creepy doll in Annabelle: Creation, and the hope that Detroit finds legs in the interim.
The home entertainment slate is heavy on film and light on TV, showcasing King Arthur, Snatched, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Blindspot and the mysteries of amenesiacs and terrorists amp up the action before moving into retro titles with two Teen Wolf tales. Wrap it all up with Denise and news of an Ant-Man sequel, a Pacific Rim sequel, and a Nintendo Classic sequel. We seriously hope that they work out the bugs in that last one. Also, a PSA on fantasy, dogs, and milkshakes. Seriously, be kind to living creatures and #MakeMineMilkshake on a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

Sometimes, not even secret agents and poop are enough to win the weekend. On this edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we face the triumph of Dunkirk and the rise of The Dark Tower, and we question if Stephen King is enough to defeat Christopher Nolan and dramatic war dramas. [CONFORM] This week also sees the wide releases of Kidnap and Detroit, dramas starring Halle Berry and John Boyega.
The home entertainment slate tries to steal hearts with a bank heist in Going in Style, a thrilling mystery in The Circle, an extraterrestrial horror in Alien: Covenant, and a blast from the past with They Live. [OBEY] To wrap it all up, Denise brings us a few confrontations, including the singularity (and Melissa McCarthy), Confederate (and HBO), and Castlevania (and the video game curse). Did we mention Darkwing Duck? Yes, there's Darkwing Duck. This and more on a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network. [CONSUME]

The Weekly Podioplex returns to find good performers and a disappointment. Dunkirk is the victor, Girls Trip is a winner, but Valerian disappointed while looking pretty. All three of them face challenges from thrilling Atomic Blonde and poop... er, I mean, The Emoji Movie. Or maybe just poop.

After a brief break, The Weekly Podioplex has returned to news of an infestation at the box office. This week's winner is Spider-Man: Homecoming, which made a pretty big splash for a superhero whose only reward is supposedly action. The wallcrawler faces a new challenge as war comes to the Planet of the Apes. Simian or spider: Who will win?
The home entertainment slate goes high octane with The Fate of the Furious, a lost city, the Smurfs, and the unexplained between magic and time travelers on TV. After Leeloo Dallas Multipass goes 4K for a 20th anniversary, Denise returns with news of Netflix, gender and race conflicts in popular TV, and word that James Bond may expand to a whole shared universe of stories. On an all-new double digest edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the Transformers won the weekend, but it was a hollow victory based on sales. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman and Cars 3 picked up the slack. The next two weeks will be a test for the numbers two and three as Gru, the Minions, and Spider-Man make their debuts. It's kids and comics against kids and comics, and the winners are us.
On the home entertainment slate, Power Rangers, The Boss Baby, The Zookeeper's Wife, Prison Break, and Homicide make their way to your shelves alongside others. The Lodger celebrates 90 years and Fievel Goes West, then Denise tells us all about replicants, Han Solo's director issues, and an assembling of Avengers. On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Lightning McQueen won the race, but can he match Wonder Woman's box office endurance as she continues to take down her DCEU brethren? This week, they both face off against a new set of cars as a popular '80s franchise gets another movie chapter in Transformers: The Last Knight. The question is how the Michael Bay action spectacle will match against two movies with feeling.
On the home entertainment slate, the pickings are equally slim as Life, Kong, Jake and the Fatman, and Under the Dome make their way to various shelves. To top it off, Denise discusses remakes, squees about DuckTales (woo-oo!), laments Cruise control, and says goodbye to Batman. Add it all together and you have another edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

NOTE: Apologies to Michael and Denise for the delay in producing this episode - JD
On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, The Mummy could not defeat Diana of Themiscrya, and the other newbies couldn't even keep up. The race is still on this week as Wonder Woman defends her crown against the might of Disney, Pixar, and Lightning McQueen. Can ka-chow defeat the Amazon princess or will she make it a box office three-peat?
On the home entertainment slate, Bones, The Vampire Diaries, and Grimm all say goodbye as LEGO Batman, John Wick, and the Power Rangers say hello. On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it's evident that pirates rule and lifeguards drool, even if it was a lackluster holiday performance for both of them. This week, Captain Jack and the babes and brawn of Baywatch contend with an Amazon princess. It's a DC Comics origin story that isn't for Superman, isn't for Batman, and isn't even for a man. Finally, the world has Wonder Woman.
On the home entertainment slate, studios air out some winter releases with The Shack, Before I Fall, A Cure for Wellness, and some major crimes and intrigue on TV. Denise ends on a high note with various popular properties coming to screens in the near future, putting the polish on another edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a battle between then aliens and the xenomorphs won. Barely. Now it's the battle of the aliens (both sets) and the pirates. Bring rum and that guy's leg, and watchout for facehuggers.
On the home entertainment slate, old man Logan, haunted houses, the Great Wall, and John Wick come home. So does an animated superhero who is friends with the Flash, Green Arrow, and the Legends. Disney also gets in on things with some ducks. Mighty ones. Denise takes us out with a few geeky articles and a whole lotta "yaaaaaaayyy" as we put the wraps on another edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Volume Two takes Round Two as the Guardians of the Galaxy win the weekend once again. Not even raunchy comedy or King Arthur himself could stop them. This week, it's aliens versus aliens as the xenomorphs return with Alien: Covenant. If chestbusters aren't quite your style, there's some comedy and romance as well.
The home entertainment slate is meatier than last week, offering Xander Cage's return, the final chapter of Resident Evil, Logan, chidren from Mars, and gods in shacks. The Fresh Prince rings rhythm (and the Carlton) to television, and Bruce Lee returns to our retro blu-ray slate with the Dragon beating on gangsters. Denise takes a few minutes to talk Hellboy, The Strain, Sleepy Hollow, and iZombie, and brings us to the end of another edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, there was only one clear winner, and they are the Guardians of the Galaxy. The odds remain in their favor as the box office newcomers are a retelling of the King Arthur legend and a mother/daughter comedy. The home entertainment slate is equally light, offering Fifty Shades, a rocking dog, a prison tale in orange and black, and an accidental tourist. Denise adds in a plethora of news items from across the universe, drawing this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex to a close on The Chronic Rift Network. Weekly Podioplex Notes for May 9th, 2017

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, there were a few shining stars that tried so, so hard to beat the fast and furious family, but Torretto and his gang sped their way to victory and a box office turkey. This week, they face another family: The Guardians of the Galaxy.
The home entertainment slate is a mix of dogs, rings, zombies, babies, and 4400 mysterious people. We also see a pair of hi-def anniversaries as Saturday Night Fever and Smokey and the Bandit flash forward from the 1970s. Finally, Denise caps off the comics celebration with a whole bushel of news from the Marvel universe. That and more on this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a bad week to be a new release. In fact, none of the newbies broke into the top five, and the best among them was a documentary with cute critters. The Fate of the Furious kept driving, and unless The Circle, a street magician, or a latin lover can muster the numbers, Toretto's family will keep riding into the sunset.
The home entertainment slate is a small affair, musicals both modern and classic, a battle of werewolves and vampires, and... well... an affair. Denise caps off the week with The Mummy's daddy issues, another crack at the Dark Phoenix, and some uncertainty about Predator and Trek on this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

Apologies for the delay in this release. On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the winner was expected, but the magnitude was not. The Fate of the Furious was apparently to set records worldwide and guarantee another two stories in the adrenline-charged series. The competition this week is pulling out all the stops, with five titles ranging from angry ex-wives to alien abductions and cute animals, but none of them can drive cars really, really fast. The home entertainment slate is far more limited, spanning Split, The Founder, and the Teen Titans on disc. A dog finds his purpose on digital, and Killjoys joins the Five-O in TV on DVD. Finally, retro titles preps Hulu audiences with a look at a polluted religious dystopia driven by fertility. Denise wraps it all up with comic and video game news, as well as a sad news about the future of Conan. The king of the Cimmerians may be dead, but we still soldier on with this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, The Smurfs got beat by the Boss Baby. In fact, the Smurfs got beat by the nearly billion-dollar Beauty and the Beast. You know, The Smurfs even got beat by The Smurfs... twice! Okay, okay, they pulled out a win against geriatric thieves Going in Style, but we're left wondering if it's enough to beat fast and furious car thieves on their eighth movie. Can Smurfs get furious? Can they even drive?
In home entertainment, NASA's Hidden Figures, Monster Trucks, and (shhh... you're not supposed to know) The Bye Bye Man make their debuts alongside digital releases of Underworld: Blood Wars and La La Land. TV on DVD showcases Tangled: The Series, a trip to Mars, and a classic '50s favorite, and Blu-Rays from the past bring a witch hunt to HD.
Denise wraps it all up with news about Mulan and a taking to task of The Mummy and the humanity of monsters before finishing off this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Disney almost had the box office turkey, but they encountered The Boss Baby in a nail-biter of a weekend. The big question is whether or not the Baby can defend against the power of Smurfs, geriatric theives, or crises of faith. Are the Baby's days on the throne numbered?
In home entertainment, the slate is short for another week, but that's okay. We have Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. On the TV front, we go retro with Diff'rent Strokes and one of the most memorable episodes in '80s sitcom history, and Blu-Rays from the past goes way back with Mr. Deeds. Not the Adam Sandler one... we're talking way, way back. After that, Denise wraps it all up with some comic news and some props for Screen Rant for getting her good before drawing this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex to a close on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Disney continues to score with the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, handily defeating CHiPs, Life, and even Power Rangers. This week brings another live-action adaptation, this time from the anime genre with Ghost in the Shell. It also brings The Boss Baby. Can either of them take on the song as old as rhyme?
In home entertainment, the slate is short once again as Fantastic Beasts, Planet Earth, and Hidden Figures headline the new movies, MST3K and Static Shock come from TV to DVD, and Cool Runnings jams into HD. Denise wraps it all up with some thoughts on the DCEU before wrapping this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex to a close on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Disney scored a major record-breaking win with Beauty and the Beast. This week continues the revival theme with a new adaptation of Power Rangers and a 21st century bite at the '70s classic CHIPS, as well as a new sci-fi horror film called Life. Can any of these newbies de-throne the Mouse, or will Belle and Beast dance for another week?
In home entertainment, the slate is short as three winter titles make their way to disc, Jyn Erso's mission goes digital, Batman and Dick Van Dyke take on TV, and Hitchcock brings up the anchor position with Lifeboat. Denise wraps it all up with a basket full of news, bringing this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex to a close on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Logan stepped aside as the giant ape Kong took control of the box office. Adding another creature to the mix this week is Disney's live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. With so many beasts in the mix, will the Mouse House's magic win the weekend?
In home entertainment, it's drama galore as a few winter releases make their way to disc. TV steps back in time with a slate of retro titles including award-winners and memorable finales, and HD takes the time-traveling cue by bringing Firestarter to blu-ray. Finally, Denise takes on a superheroic slate of comic book news items to wrap this new edition of the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Batman and most of the newbies are told to Get Out as Jordan Peele's fresh flick takes down everyone. The competition is fierce this week because the new arrivals include the afterlife, a god, and the Wolverine. This battle's gonna be nuts.
In home entertainment, it's another short slate headlined by Doctor Strange as Marvel continues Phase III. Academy Award-winning Best Picture Moonlight comes to disc as Collateral Beauty hits digital, and the Tanners bring Fuller House from TV to DVD. After a beastly look at retro classics, Denise goes wild with news before closing the cage door on another edition of the Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

It's love, true love on an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex as the sluggish year gets a reboot with three new releases in the top three spots. LEGO Batman will have his hands full fighting mythic monsters as Hollywood and China join forces at The Great Wall. Does the Caped Crusader have the power to break a wall not made of plastic bricks, or can he rely on the undying love of the fans to keep him on top?
In home entertainment, several titles make their debut, including the sci-fi darling Arrival and, on digital, Marvel's newest dimension-beinding wizard. TV on DVD brings drama and crime fighting, the latter with an addiction to lollipops, along with the Starship Enterprise in HD. Raquel Welch caps it off with a trip to the stone age before Denise gives us the lowdown on how Baby Groot is a jerk. After that, we put a bow on this Valentine's Day edition of the Weekly Podioplex because we choo-choo-choose you. Either that, or we shot you with Cupid's arrows again. That cherub really needs to quit leaving his weapons lying around The Chronic Rift Network.

Welcome to February with all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex. With Split earning a box office turkey and all of the new releases acting more like Falcons than Patriots, we have to wonder if the Caped Crusader can break through the brick wall and score a win. Joining him (and Robin, if we continue the avian theme) are John Wick and fifty more shades of Fifty Shades. Nothing says Valentines like LEGOs, violence, and hyperbolic BDSM.
In home entertainment, we start with a completely different kind of Loving, followed by Trolls, political fallout, and the dark side of the Justice League. The digital and TV slates are pretty sparse, but classics on Blu-Ray make up for it as we say goodbye to Carrie Fisher with a loose semi-autobiographical salute. Wrap it up with Denise and news of Star Wars vinyls, Game of Thrones beverages, and a wee spot of, shall we say, alternative facts in the Quick Flicks, and we bring this edition of The Weekly Podioplex to close. It's all yours for free, courtesy of The Chronic Rift Network.

It's the end of January on an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, and while we wonder where the month has gone, the box office newbies were Split across the board. As he continues to seek redemption from moviegoers, M. Night Shyamalan has some contenders this week with The Space Between Us and Ring
s. Yes, it's another visit to the short film about a girl who crawls out of well on a weekly basis to kill. We can empathize. Except for the crawling out a well. And the killing. So, basically with the weekly basis bit.
Anyway, in home entertainment, Jack Reacher doesn't listen to his titles, Madea says boo, Disney crowns the Queen of Katwe, and Arrival arrives on digital. Television titles welcome Penny Dreadful, Queen Victoria, and the return of two classic sci-fi favorites. Add in the boy without strings on a new blu-ray for a nice finish to the month.
What? You want more? Denise has just the thing with Marvel meet-ups and Star Wars stories, bringing January to fantastic finale on The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the box office was dominated by two of the three newcomers. In particular, it was a good weekend for an oft-ridiculed filmmaker and his new title Split. This week brings an end to the apocalypse of Resident Evil, smiles with A Dog's Purpose, and a quest for Gold. Can M. Night Shyamalan protect his win?
In home entertainment, it's a short slate with symbology, monsters, trolls, and detectives. Sherlock comes home, as do two classics including a David Bowie alien film. Denise tops it all off with a variety of news, and we draw things to a close on The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a holiday weekend, but if you were a new release, it was a bad one. Hidden Figures defeated everyone, the Rebellion broke the half-billion mark, and Hollywood is hoping beyond hope that the return of Xander Cage in a fifteen year revival of xXx can put a stop to all of it. It's January, so we shall see.
In home entertainment, audiences are treated to a variety of films including Roger Corman's newest: Death Race 2050. Jack Reacher goes back (even though the title warned him not to) on digital, Rizzoli & Isles says farewell on TV, and the classics take Two For the Road. Denise shakes things up with a discussion of remakes that you never knew you wanted but are getting anyway, drawing this new edition of The Weekly Podioplex to a close on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a tight race for first place as the East Coast got frozen out with winter storms. That's bad news for the Rebellion, but good news for Hidden Figures. This week, the box office celebrates Friday the 13th with monsters of various sizes, including growling trucks, haunting figures, terrorists, and criminals.
In home entertainment, 2016 continues to clean house with a variety of titles, from teenage superheroes and mafia accountants to historical dramas and comedy acts. TV on DVD keeps things rolling with political intrigue, hackers, and bold adventures in the final frontier. Denise brings this week's finale with a tribute to Debbie Reynolds and a spoiler-free review of Sing, closing the curtain on this new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

Happy New Year! On the first 2017 edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the rebels are celebrating with turkey as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story makes it three victories in a row. The Rebellion turns its sights on the vampires, lycans, and tree monsters as this week's new releases go supernatural. The newcomers have the advantage of box office fatigue, but Rogue One still carries the Star Wars banner. Who will win?
In home entertainment, a few late 2016 titles come to disc and streaming, as well as Bones, Sleepy Hollow, and The Librarians in TV on DVD. We cap off the new slate with a twenty-year old Jerry Maguire asking you to show him your hard-earned cash, alongside the original Gone in 60 Seconds. Denise takes it home with a tribute to Carrie Fisher and a spoiler-free review of Rogue One, putting the cap on this new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an brand new double-digest holiday edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the rebels are in charge as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story won the weekend in grand fashion. Disney and Lucasfilm face a Death Star-sized challenge as 2016 comes to a close as four major contenders arrive just in time for one of the top movie holidays. Can the rebels withstand firepower of that magnitude? In home entertainment, several late summer and early fall titles make their debut just in time for gift-giving, and they make the majority of the slate. Television takes a break, and horror takes over the high-def titles from the past. We wrap up the show with Denise and the Quick Flicks, and we wrap up the year with this final 2016 edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the box office picked up a December turkey as not even an Office Christmas Party could unseat Moana as the box office champ. This may be the last week on top for our animated heroine, but Disney's doing pretty well as they debut Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
In home entertainment, it's super-villains working off prison sentences, peculiar children with super powers, and a biblical epic to start things off. TV on DVD brings Star Trek, Korra, Dirk Gently, andt he slate belongs to the movies as six titles from 2016 make their premiere. Add them to a baby for Bridget Jones, a House of Lies, and another dose of the Walking Dead. Finally, Denise wraps things up with the Quick Flicks and we present you with a shiny new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a terrible week to be a new release. Moana and Fantastic Beasts ruled the roost once again, and they have one more week to keep audiences entertained before the Death Star comes back to town. In the meantime, Miss Sloane and the Office Christmas Party will try their hardest to win hearts, minds, and cold hard cash. Do they have a chance against wizards, teenage heroes, and demigods?
Home entertainment gets busy as pets, super secret agents, cowboys, airline heroes, and storks make waves. Among these big name titles, however, is a touching documentary from a son to his late father, an idol from a science fiction legend. Television titles include irreverent animation, romance, a spinoff from a galaxy far away, and a high fantasy MTV project. It all rounds out with octane as Mad Max hits shelves in Black and Chrome fashion.
Finally, Denise brings it all to a close with a fitting and thematic review of a deeply inspirational film in the Quick Flicks. What better way to stay warm as December debuts than with your friends at The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an brand new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the box office shrugged off a turkey coma as Moana unseats Fantastic Beasts as the box office champ. Unfortunately, that luck didn't spread far among the new releases. The good news is that they have a chance to remain in the running since this week brings only one contender to the table.
In home entertainment, the slate belongs to the movies as six titles from 2016 make their premiere. On an all-new Double Digest edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the box office remains strange as the good doctor fends off aliens, angry offspring, and a mid-November horror flick. This week sees one brand of magic facing off against another as Doctor Strange defends his title against the first Harry Potter spinoff in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. And if that's not enough magic, Moana joins that fray in two weeks. Welcome to the November blockbuster season. In home entertainment, a fish finds home in Finding Dory and Star Wars takes another chunk out of everyone's budgets. In the "One of These Things is Not Like the Other" Department, the Suicide Squad, Jason Bourne, and The Secret Life of Pets make their digital debuts. On television, we welcome the drama of Westeros, an animated Trek, and another entry from MST3K. Finally, two classics debut in HD as the Looney Tunes crew plays basketball and the Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller does what Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers do best. Is that all? Of course not. What kind of bountiful feast for the ears would this be without Denise and the Quick Flicks? All of this in a double episode for the debut of the holiday season on The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

NOTE: With apologies to Michael and Denise, here is a much delayed episode of The Weekly Podioplex.
On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it's the last show of the month, and a surprising (yet fitting) champion has emerged with Boo! A Madea Halloween. It's not certain how long Madea will hold the crown since Jack Reacher wasn't far behind, and there's a conspiracy on the horizon with Robert Langdon and his adventures in Inferno.
In home entertainment, we go on a Hunt for the Wilderpeople, find Dory on digital, race Nash Bridges on the television front, and head off to Neverland in a hi-def look back to 1991. It's a short slate, but it ends in top fashion as Denise brings you the news in the Quick Flicks, putting the wrap on this installment of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we're moving into October's back half with a win from The Accountant as it leads the stunning stage bow for Kevin Hart and the stumbling Max Steel. Next week will be action-on-action action as Jack Reacher returns to the silver screen and challenges Affleck for the crown.
In home entertainment, Jeff Goldblum and company return to save Earth in Independence Day: Resurgence, while Alice Through the Looking Glass debuts on digtial. In the television department, Bates Motel and Teen Wolf escort the powerhouse Downton Abbey to disc, and to round out the list, we get creepy dolls and creepier serial killers in the return of Child's Play.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we're haunting the station as The Girl on the Train arrives on time despite a poor reception, solidly beating the rest of the newcomers. She faces some steep competition from The Accountant, Max Steel, and Kevin Hart and we enter the middle of the month. In home entertainment, the Ghostbusters and Krampus take advantage of the season in a bid for your shelves, along with the Ice Age crew and Tarzan. If digital is more your speed, Batman and Robin dust off the cowl and tights for another amazing adventure. Meanwhile, TV on DVD goes retro with a handful of blasts from the past to accompany Hannibal, Mike & Molly, and The Good Witch. To wrap things up, a Stephen King classic brings the scares from the past on Blu-Ray. Finally, Denise wraps things up with the Quick Flicks, putting the stake in this installment of The Weekly Podioplex, brought to you on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, there can only be seven as the remake of the classic Magnificent Seven rustles up box office gold. Quick on their heels is a special delivery from Storks, and the match is set for this week's winners and the newcomers, Miss Peregrine, Deepwater Horizon, and some Masterminds. It's a regular showdown in September.
Moving to home entertainment, quite a few lower end summer performers are coming to disc, and digital video showcases a preview of coming attractions with Ghostbusters and Independence Day: Resurgence. TV on DVD comes to the table with Grimm, Reign, and Ripper Street, and the classics on Blu-Ray proclaim that there can only be one. Not seven, but one, as Highlander reaches its thirtieth anniversary.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Sully's still strong as the newbies all fall short. The next group of contenders for the crown are magnificent, including Storks and the remake of the Magnificent Seven. Can an animated comedy or a western succeed where the Blair Witch, Bridget Jones, and Snowden could not?
Moving to home entertainment, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back, as are the Neighbors and the Free State of Jones. Digital video brings the Purge and a new look at the legend of Tarzan, and television rings up an idiosyncratic mystery tale in Twin Peaks. Finally, the classics celebrate an eigthieth birthday with a thirtieth anniversary.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we return to the podcasting airwaves as Tom Hanks returns to the number one position with the story of Sully and the Miracle on the Hudson. In home entertainment, the next two weeks are big with The Jungle Book, Me Before You, Now You See Me 2, and Money Monster dominating the discs. On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Star Trek warps into number one on a profitable weekend, defeating the pets, the Ice Age, and scares in the dark. The Enterprise (or what's left of her) has star power, but so does super-agent Jason Bourne, who makes his return to theaters after a while off. Can Kirk defeat Bourne, or will the Enterprise crash and burn?
On the home entertainment front, The Boss and Hardcore Henry make their disc debuts, and the Joker takes a dark swing at the Caped Crusader as The Killing Joke comes to digital. On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, we celebrate a fifth merry un-birthday for the show since we missed the actual date last month. In lieu of wood or silverware, we'll take the Ghostbusters, which couldn't overcome The Secret Life of Pets, but did well with a new record and positive reactions. Of course, Captain Kirk and the Enterprise are bearing down as Star Trek Beyond hits theaters this week, leaving us to wonder how well two franchise sequels will do head to head.
On the home entertainment front, two other goliaths clash as Batman and Superman bring the Dawn of Justice, Back to the Future and Ghostbusters both get new documentaries, and TV on DVD gets post-apocalyptic with The 100, a whole lot of Tatiana Maslanys with Orphan Black, and a Person of Interest boxset for spice. Wrap it up with a look back at the 1920s as The Daughter of Dawn comes to Blu-Ray, and you have a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network.

The forgetful blue tang faces some steep competition over the next three weeks as your podcast host takes a vacation, including Independence Day: Resurgence, The BFG, and The Secret Life of Pets. Can Dory withstand box office fire of that magnitude?
On the home entertainment front, the list is a who's who of spring releases playing companion to the high-definition adventures of the Ninth Doctor. Add on a threesome of Blu-ray classics, and it's an edition of The Weekly Podioplex that is stuffed to the gills on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a good week to be a newcomer as bank heists, orcs, and supernatural terror won the weekend. Also, adding credence to what has been a bad punchline for a long time, so did China as they continue on course to become the world's largest movie market. To combat the specters this week, Disney is taking another adventure with a forgetful fish in Finding Dory. It will likely perform well, but will it overcome the curse of lackluster sequels in 2016? On the home entertainment front, we visit 10 Cloverfield Lane, watch London fall, and welcome home old friends with Star Trek, the X-Files, and Dark Shadows. Wrap it all up with a look at next month's cinematic offerings, and you have a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network. Weekly Podioplex Notes for June 14, 2016

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the Apocalypse was almost averted by the heroes on the half-shell, but it's mixed news for the studio. Both sets of comic book heroes could see a challenge with the Now You See Me sequel, the premiere of Warcraft, and another visit to the horrors of The Conjuring. Will they be enough to jump start the flagging summer season? On the home theater front, it's a list of big hitters, including Disney's Zootopia, Michael Bay, and George Clooney. TV takes a Quantum Leap this week, and a Star Trek blockbuster goes Blu with a director's cut. What more could you want? It's a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the Apocalypse has arrived, but it's certainly not the big Memorial Day winner that everyone had hoped. In fact, even with a new milestone under their ears, Disney couldn't save the holiday from a soft start to the summer season. Hoping to take advantage of that performance is a set of lean green pizza-eating ninja heroes on the half shell, but can their zany antics dethrone the X-Men? On the home theater front, it's CG gods versus Jane Austen and the undead, with an inspirational Olympic biodrama to run circles around both. Add a little discussion to dismiss some fear-mongering, and you have a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the box office went to the birds as Rovio's avian avatars struck down #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan. Unfortunately, the X-Men are bringing Apocalypse to theaters. Will the Angry Birds and their slingshot be able to withstand the mutant uprising?
Meanwhile, Disney strikes back with the heroes of the Coast Guard on your home theater, and a long lost adventure in time and space comes home with Doctor Who and The Underwater Menace. Add in Zoolander, the risen Messiah, Kevin Arnold, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and you have a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan joined forces with the denizens of The Jungle Book to maintain the Disney domination on the box office, including another milestone for the Marvel team. The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman were two of the most influential television programs of the 70's. During the height of their popularity, Steve Austin (Lee Majors) and Jaime Sommers (Lindsay Wagner) would battle Fembots, Bigfoot, Venus Death Probes, deadly duplicates, foreign spies, and bitter cold to protect the United States' interests through the O.S.I. Every other Sunday, hosts John S. Drew and Paul K. Bisson talk about one episode from either series in depth with another fan of the series. On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan tore up the box office as Captain America: Civil War broke records worldwide for Disney and Marvel. With little competition this week combined with critical and audience acclaim, the storm will likely continue for another weekend. But the Marvel influence doesn't stop there as the Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth, brings home the chimichangas on DVD and Blu-Ray this week. Add a side of classic television for your home cinema, a dash of undead Jane Austen for on demand streaming, and a little extra spice for flavor, and you have a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network.

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Mowgli found a turkey in the box office jungle as all of the newcomers fell short. But this is where The Jungle Book's reign ends as #TeamIronMan and #TeamCap clash in the long awaited Captain America: Civil War. It may have some help with Disney's magic and the retelling of one of their classics. Heroes at war continue the story as the Justice League and the Teen Titans slug it out on Blu-Ray, Tim Kring's vision of humans battling evolution comes to your shelf, and Marvel's Phase Three gets ready to kick things off with #TeamCap vs #TeamIronMan.
