The Dead Robots Society

The Dead Robots’ Society was created by Justin Macumber in an effort to offer advice and support to other aspiring writers. All the hosts, current and former, have writing experience of some kind. They gather on a weekly basis to share stories of their individual journeys and discuss topics important to the world of writing. Occasional forays into the territories of brown dragons, taco eating cowboy space ninjas, or random discussions involving monkeys are all considered rumor at best and none of the hosts are willing to admit any of that actually happened.

Animated fare continues to dominate the box office.  Minions takes the top spot this week, but can it hold that position this weekend as Marvel unleashes the Ant-Man?  (Never thought a sentence like that would be written.)  Michael Falkners got all this, DVD releases and Comic Con news on a new Weekly Podioplex.

Remake This Movie RIGHT!

“Remake This Movie RIGHT!” is a bi-weekly podcast where we take a classic film that is actively being remade by Hollywood studio execs, and craft our own version of how a modern retelling should go. Does the story need updating? Should characters or motives be tweaked? Do we need more muppets? We take all factors into account, concoct our film, and then offer a Final Pitch to you in movie trailer form. By the end of each episode, we will Remake This Movie RIGHT!

And with a third week at the top of the box office, Jurassic World is the first box office "turkey" of the summer season, beating out Avengers: Age of Ultron.  It's a slow week of movie and DVD releases, but there are a couple that promise to threaten the dinosaurs' top spot.  Michael Falkner has this and more on a new Weekly Podioplex.

It really doesn't come as much of a surprise that Jurassic World took the top box office spot last weekend.  What's amazing are the records that were broken with its release.  Can it hold the top spot as it appears everyone in the world has seen the film?  Michael Falkner has a few new movie releases to suggest as competition.  There are also DVD releases and movie news with casting for the first Star Wars spinoff film and the passing of Christopher Lee.  It's all here and more on a new Weekly Podioplex.

The Roundtable Podcast

Each week we invite publishers, editors, and authors to get on the line with a writer who presents an idea on the table… an idea for a story they want to write.  And then everyone digs in, asking questions, pointing out problems, and proposing solutions.  Characters are dissected or dismissed, plots reinforced or torn apart altogether, and hopefully what started as an idea, becomes something more.
