The Catwoman is back in Gotham City and she's training a protegee in the form of singer Lesley Gore as Pussycat.  Catwoman's scheme is to get Batman and Robin under her control with a new drug she's designed.  With their help, she's hoping to rob the Gotham Mint.   How does this episode fair compared to other Catwoman episodes?  What did John and his guest think of the inclusion of not one, but two performances by Lesley Gore?  Just how ironic was it that Robin was hitting on Pussycat?

Dan Greenfield is the editor and co-creator of 13thDimension.com, a website devoted primarily to comics and pop culture, past and present. To him, the basic food groups are Batman, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek (the Original Series), James Bond, the Beatles and the Stones. But if he had to he'd be able to subsist on Batman alone. Channel 11 in New York was his favorite syndicated channel as a kid -- you can guess why -- followed closely by Channel 5. Channel 9 didn't really enter into it unless he was home sick and there wasn't much else on. He's married to his remarkably patient wife Wendy and his best sidekick is his son, Sam. They have two cats, Lex and Zod.

Holly is worried about her brother, Gary.  He's fallen in with the wrong crowd and doesn't know how to get out.  Can Mentor and Captain Marvel convince him in time to change his ways or will the lure of pusher Brock be too much for Gary?

The fourth episode of the first season, "The Lure of the Lost," is examined.   There are many aspects of this story worth note.  This is the first two-part episode for the series.  This is the first darkly themed episode.  Mentor's character is much more mysterious in this two-parter, something we won't see again.  The main villain isn't going to be seen until the second half.  With so much going on here, what did Richard and John think of the episode itself?

Welcome to a new audio drama anthology series here on The Chronic Rift Network!  David Binkley is the producer and director of the WCRS Radio Stage program.  He has always loved old radio dramas so in 2000 when Written Communications Radio Service, a radio reading service for the blind, took their studios to digital he started preparing scripts that could relive those thrilling days of yesteryear. He assembled friends and volunteers and they laid down the voice tracks with sound effects and music inserted in post production. 

The thought was to produce a half hour drama a month.  An ambitious goal considering that there was NEVER a regular radio drama series EVER broadcast out of Akron, Ohio.  Over the next twenty-four months they were able to produce twenty-two stories,  After that they put together an occasional story - mostly at Christmas.

We continue our presentations with another story from series creator David Binkley.  Davis takes his turn with the hard-boiled detective genre in the form of Brick Wall.  Brick's first case - "Mystery by Accident".

Kyle has extensive experience editing, sound mixing, screenwriting and is the director of several short films. His latest short, “Jamie And Jonathan” is tells the story of a failed writer driving his estranged son to a funeral.

“Jamie And Jonathan” is a drama exploring the meaning of fatherhood but is filled with lots of comedy as well. Kyle and I talk in detail about the how connected and important comedy is to drama. Kyle tells us about his experiences in various positions has helped him become a better director. And he also tells about how he became a screenwriter despite being told in his youth it was impossible because he has dyslexia. Kyle has proven it’s very much not impossible. Enjoy."

A woman dies and leaves instructions in her will to destroy her horse, Beckett.  But her niece, who loves the horse, tries to stop it. Time is running out as Captain Marvel and Mentor must help her save the horse while working within the law.

John and Richard settle down to discuss the third episode of the series, "Thou Shalt Not Kill".  They look at the legal precedent set in the story by the sheriff and Captain Marvel.  They are amazed by the horse that can talk without moving its lips.  And they puzzle over the double message the Elders give Billy in their weekly meeting.

Glenn Greenberg is an award-winning editor and writer. A native of Toledo, Ohio, Jim Beard was introduced to comic books at an early age by his father, who passed on to him a love for the medium and the pulp characters who preceded it. After decades of reading, collecting and dissecting comics, Jim became a published writer when he sold a story to DC Comics in 2002. Since that time he's written official Star Wars and Ghostbusters comic stories and contributed articles and essays to several volumes of comic book history.

His prose work includes GOTHAM CITY 14 MILES, a book of essays on the 1966 Batman TV series; SGT. JANUS, SPIRIT-BREAKER, a collection of pulp ghost stories featuring an Edwardian occult detective; MONSTER EARTH, a giant monster anthology; and CAPTAIN ACTION: RIDDLE OF THE GLOWING MEN, the first pulp prose novel based on the classic 1960s action figure.

Currently, Jim provides regular content for Marvel.com, the official Marvel Comics website, and is a regular columnist for Toledo Free Press.
