On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, it was a good week to be a newcomer as bank heists, orcs, and supernatural terror won the weekend. Also, adding credence to what has been a bad punchline for a long time, so did China as they continue on course to become the world's largest movie market. To combat the specters this week, Disney is taking another adventure with a forgetful fish in Finding Dory. It will likely perform well, but will it overcome the curse of lackluster sequels in 2016? On the home entertainment front, we visit 10 Cloverfield Lane, watch London fall, and welcome home old friends with Star Trek, the X-Files, and Dark Shadows.  On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the Apocalypse has arrived, but it's certainly not the big Memorial Day winner that everyone had hoped. In fact, even with a new milestone under their ears, Disney couldn't save the holiday from a soft start to the summer season. Hoping to take advantage of that performance is a set of lean green pizza-eating ninja heroes on the half shell, but can their zany antics dethrone the X-Men? On the home theater front, it's CG gods versus Jane Austen and the undead, with an inspirational Olympic biodrama to run circles around both. Add a little discussion to dismiss some fear-mongering, and you have a new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, only on The Chronic Rift Network.

 On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, the box office went to the birds as Rovio's avian avatars struck down #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan. Unfortunately, the X-Men are bringing Apocalypse to theaters. Will the Angry Birds and their slingshot be able to withstand the mutant uprising?
Meanwhile, Disney strikes back with the heroes of the Coast Guard on your home theater, and a long lost adventure in time and space comes home with Doctor Who and The Underwater Menace.  On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan joined forces with the denizens of The Jungle Book to maintain the Disney domination on the box office, including another milestone for the Marvel team. This week's competition involve some upset fowl with a porcine grudge and a slingshot, another comedic look at collegiate life, and a 1970s detective procedural. Do they have a chance at stopping the march of Mouse House?

On an all-new edition of The Weekly Podioplex, Mowgli found a turkey in the box office jungle as all of the newcomers fell short.
